What is KFC's secret Formula and in which safe is it stored? How about Coke? How many people have seen Coke's formula? Is it really all that magical or are they ingenious marketing tactics that paved the way for some of the most revolutionary campaigns? It's all about advertisements out there. Ads that are able to steer clear of the clutter and convey the "gospel truth" are the dream of every company.

Welcome to the event that tests your creativity, your ingenuity and your understanding of consumer perception. It will take you through market research, creative planning, media planning and the best of integrated marketing concepts. Welcome to the first of its kind event in India - where creativity knows no bounds - The Secret Formula.


Prize Money
  • 1st Prize : INR 50,000
  • 2nd Prize : INR 25,000

Event Format

  • The event tests participants on Marketing Communication skills
  • A live product/service is to be marketed and the event will be divided into three rounds
  • A final set of 6-8 submissions will be presented to sponsor as model campaigns for their product

Round 1
  • It will be carried out as an online quiz which consists of both MCQs and subjective questions
  • It will be in the form of small case studies each followed by a few questions
  • Many paths in answering the questions might be correct; consistency in viewpoints and relevance to the problem will be judged

Round 2
  • Teams will be asked to present a proposal for a marketing/advertising campaign for the product. This will include defining objectives of the campaign

Round 3
  • Selected 6-8 teams will be invited to campus to present a full service integrated marketing campaign for the product
  • Presentations would be made to a panel comprising of Knowledge Partner/ Sponsors and Faculty

  • The event is open to students from all the B-Schools
  • There should be 2 members belonging to the same institute in each team. ( All the members need to registered on the website to be able to register for the event)
  • An individual can be part of only one team
  • There is no limit to the number of contestants that can participate from a particular institute.
  • All the teams need to be registered in order to participate.
  • The Organizing team reserves the right to modify the terms and dates of the event
  • The decision of the judges would be final and binding.

  • Registration Deadline: 7:00 AM, 21st December 2011
  • Round 1 deadline: 8 PM, 20th December 2011 - 8 AM 21st December 2011
